About Us
The Centre for Law & Policy Development (CeLP) is a Zimbabwean non-profit Think tank and Advocacy Group championing progressive policies, as well as law.
Our Vision
We envision a society where public policy is driven by evidence, shaped by lived experience, and designed to promote shared prosperity.
Our Mission
We drive informed decision-making through the development and promotion of innovative, evidence-based solutions to complex legal and policy challenges inorder to advance unity, justice, and prosperity.
Activities
CELP leverages research to pinpoint deficiencies in law and public policy. Additionally, it utilizes research to drive both law reform and development.
CELP identifies gaps in existing or proposed legislation and public policy. We subsequently develop feasible solutions and engage decision makers for reform.
CELP educates the public on key law and policy developments that affect them. Our objective is to foster public awareness of laws and encourage public involvement in the law-making process.
CELP supports legislators and policymakers by providing advisory services and support systems aimed at enhancing quality.
CeLP employs a two-fold strategy to engage decision-makers. The first component focuses on identifying gaps and areas for improvement in laws (both legislative and regulatory frameworks) and policies. CeLP accomplishes this through expert research, analysis, writing, and discourse, aimed at uncovering the most pressing societal needs.
The second element involves providing advice and engagement. CeLP transforms the outcomes of the identification process into viable, evidence-based proposals. Additionally, CeLP engages decision-makers through advocacy efforts to promote the adoption, reform, or enhancement of laws and policies
