Initiative Mandate
The Initiative supports constitutional protections and the welfare of children, juvenile offenders and youth.
Children’s rights and wellbeing
According to Zimbabwe’s Constitution, the welfare and rights of children are a paramount national objective. CeLP works tirelessly to ensure that laws and policies are aligned with and optimized to meet these constitutional requirements, ultimately promoting the best interests of children.

The State must adopt policies and measures to ensure that in matters relating to children, the best interests of the children concerned are paramount.

This profound quote embodies the vision of our initiative – to nurture law abiding citizens, advance the best interests of children and support juveniles who find themselves in conflict with the law.

CHILD PROTECTION
CELP’s Initiative on the Rights and Welfare of the Child promotes awareness on child protection laws, conducts research and influences public policy. Furthermore, IRWC facilates legal aid for juveniles in conflict with the law.
